Hi friend,
July is here and somehow the summer just keeps getting hotter!
This month's theme is Heatwave and Heartbeats and honestly it could not feel more fitting. There is something about a summer night with the fan on full blast, the windows open, and a romance that will not let you put it down that just hits different. The kind of night where one more chapter turns into three and suddenly it is midnight and you have absolutely no regrets.
That is the feeling we wanted to capture this month and we hope when you open this little envelope you feel exactly that

Get to Know Your May Artist: Jessica Nahas
Jessica Nahas holds a very special place in our hearts here at Heartbound. She is a local dark romantasy author and a dear friend of ours, and if you have been with us for a while you already know her name. Her debut novel The Flower of Death is one of our all time bestsellers and her follow up The Web of Life, books one and two of her Forsaken series, are both available in the shop right now.
And as mentioned in our letter, Jessica is truly one of a kind because she not only writes, but she brings her stories to life visually too. She is the whole package and we are constantly in awe of her! We have watched her sit in the back of the store as she drew a map for her book, designed the cover of The Web of Life, and worked on character art.
When we reached out to her about designing this month's postcard we were so excited because we knew she would absolutely smash it. The late night summer reading scene, the fan, the open window, the details, it is everything we imagined and more.
This collaboration meant so much to us. There is nothing quite like getting to celebrate a friend who pours her whole heart into everything she creates, and we feel so lucky to have her in our lives!
You can find Jessica and support her work on her instagram page.

Behind the Design
Here is a little something to look for, if you look closely at the books on the shelves in the postcard you will spot something special. Jessica hid our team members' names and even our dogs' names right there on the spines 🥹 Did you catch it? Go back and look!
