Heartbound Book Shop is a romance-only independent bookstore in Orange County, California, dedicated to building community through books, conversation, and meaningful reader connection. We partner with romance authors and publishers on author events, preorder campaigns, launch support, and curated inventory partnerships designed to connect stories with engaged readers.

From in-store author signings to large-scale, ticketed offsite events, our team creates welcoming, well-organized experiences that support authors, excite readers, and align with publisher goals. Whether you’re an independent author, small press, or traditional publisher, we value clear communication, collaborative planning, and thoughtful execution at every stage.

Featured Events

  • A sold-out, ticketed author event with 240 attendees, featuring Lindsay Straube in conversation with Kate Golden. The evening included a moderated discussion, immersive experiential elements such as a professional photo booth and a permanent jewelry vendor, and seamless large-scale execution, demonstrating Heartbound’s ability to produce high-attendance, multi-author events with strong community engagement.

  • A sold-out, intimate in-store author event with 25 attendees, featuring Joss Richard in conversation with Julie Tieu and Trinity Nguyen, followed by a signing. The event offered a thoughtfully curated, high-engagement experience that highlighted Heartbound’s ability to host meaningful, conversation-driven programming in an intimate setting.

  • A sold-out, 18-attendee release party celebrating Brimstone by Callie Hart. The event paired publisher goodies with interactive elements, including a mini bookshelf craft and signed copies for 10 lucky attendees, creating a thoughtfully executed, reader-centric celebration with strong engagement.

    A special offsite romance panel celebrating Filipino American History Month, created in collaboration with Filipino-owned partners Ideal Body Chiropractic and Teofilo Coffee. The evening featured a dynamic conversation, on-site refreshments, and a signing, resulting in a welcoming, high-engagement event rooted in community connection and shared storytelling.

    A festive Galentine’s Day celebration featuring Lex Kelly and Rachel N. Harker, combining author programming with experiential touches including a flower bar, drinks, and a popcorn bar. Guests enjoyed a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere and left with a curated book bag featuring titles from both authors, reflecting Heartbound’s commitment to creating joyful, reader-centric events.

    A lively afternoon in-store signing with strong reader turnout and an open, accessible format that encouraged natural flow and one-on-one interaction. Readers were able to meet Mina Myles freely, creating an inviting atmosphere that reflected Heartbound’s community-driven approach to author events.
