Avery Reid is at a standstill in her life. Being a newspaper reporter isn't the fulfilling career she expected it to be, especially when she dreams of pursuing photography. It's not until her best-friend books a three-week trip to Blue Grove, Oregon on her behalf that she starts to seriously consider leaving a career she's worked toward most of her life. Between her strained relationship with her mother and her stagnant job, the absolute last thing she needs is a man in red flannel coming in and wrecking everything. Or maybe it's exactly what she needs.
Hudson Waters lives a quiet life in his home town, Blue Grove, where he is still grieving the loss of his sister three years later. Dubbed "the town grump," there are very few people he speaks to outside of his family and his dogs. All he wants to do is spend time with the people he loves and work on his wood carvings. The less he socializes, the better. Until she comes to town and all he wants to do is talk to her. He knows he needs to stay away because he knows everyone leaves in the end and she won't be any different.
Pictures in Blue is about finding your passion a little bit later in life. It's about healing and moving on from the past. Featuring a handsome, long-haired "lumberjack" who's good with his hands, an anxious and quirky photographer ready to take on the world, and an eccentric small town filled with lovable characters including an old lady duo who are nothing but trouble.
